MINDS C&C at InnovateHer Investor Summit 2026: The Leadership Dimension of Investment Risk

MINDS Coaching & Consulting participated in the InnovateHer Investor Summit 2026, hosted by the University of Cagliari and organised by NuLeep. The summit brought together venture capital investors, family offices, angel investors, founders and innovation ecosystem leaders from Europe, Asia and Silicon Valley.
Our objective was to exchange expertise with the international investment community, examine the challenges facing investors and founders, and identify opportunities to strengthen investment and innovation ecosystems through MINDS C&C's leadership and organisational advisory expertise.
Leadership Risk Is Investment Risk
Our direct exchanges with investors and founders examined critical leadership and organisational risks across the investment lifecycle: founder dependency, leadership team effectiveness, governance maturity, organisational scalability and strategy execution.
For founders, these factors can constrain business growth. For investors, they represent risks that can affect portfolio company valuations and investment returns.
Weak leadership and failure to execute strategy carry a direct financial cost: declining company valuations, reduced investment returns and potential capital losses.
This raises a fundamental question: Who bears the financial consequences of leadership risk, and who should invest in mitigating it?
MINDS C&C advocates targeted investment in executive leadership, governance and organisational effectiveness as part of investment risk management and long-term value creation.

From Access to Capital to Investment Readiness
The critical question for investors is: when founders gain access to capital, are they ready to turn it into sustainable business growth?
Securing funding does not, in itself, guarantee sound decision-making, effective leadership or the organisational capacity to scale.
MINDS C&C focuses on strengthening entrepreneurial mindset among founders, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship across innovation ecosystems and developing the leadership and organisational capabilities required to execute strategy and deliver business results.
Our expertise encompasses founder-to-CEO transitions, leadership team effectiveness, governance maturity and organisational readiness for growth and international expansion.
For investors, measurable outcomes are essential: progress in leadership decision-making, governance maturity and strategy execution, alongside an assessment of how these capabilities relate to portfolio company performance.
These indicators inform our approach to measuring programme outcomes and assessing the economic rationale for investing in leadership and organisational capabilities.
